As part of my online learning with Steven Cobert, I modeled this wheel in Alias.
A fairly simple looking wheel
But with only a profile view to start with and with rotated instances in the horizon, I knew that modeling this wheel could be troublesome if I was not careful early on.
The "Extend" tool to the rescue
Despite modeling with good theoretical edges, I never would have guessed on my own that the extend tool was capable of keeping continuity to form the corner blends at the outer edge of the wheel.
No radial array tool in Alias
Having to copy and create four extra copies of the section was an unnecessary step. I don't trust instances to keep perfect continuity so I wish Alias had a radial array tool that kept construction history.
